a Week in Review

5/4/14

look at me, reviewing on a sunday! lets pretend for a minute that i have all the time in the world and we are sitting down to tea while i tell you about my week! i'll actually drink tea and you can too or just pretend.

this sunday my pastor preached from my favorite part of the bible, Lamentations 3. i know those verses like the back of my hand and as we were sitting there listening to the first couple verses of how full of sadness and how he felt like the Lord had left him, i just sat nodding my head. and really all it took was my pastor reading those verses i know so well,

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope . 22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed , because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
tears were dripping off my chin and i sat there riveted like i'd never heard those words before. how often do i forget these truths. how many times will i question the Lord about my future and the uncertainty of it? and how many times will he have to prove he is faithful and trust worthy to me before i get it? i want to understand it so badly.

i am not consumed because his compassion never fails me. they start over each morning i wake up. great is his faithfulness.
Lord teach me to quietly wait for you.
needless to say church today was a refresh for me. i was able to get out some tears that had been stuck in me for a while and rejoice in the fact that he never gives up on me.

  1. Me too - with the junk food (well, last week I did, hence why I am on that diet!)

Sounds like your week has been busy, but swell at the same time! :) And I must say, I do love your Week in Reviews. They're very fun to read.

  2. I feel that a few of us are strugging with the idea of letting go of our plans and leaving it all up to God. I find that so hard sometimes but you are right, He is faithful! We can trust in him and through him we KNOW that the plans laid out before us are perfectly designed for us.
I feel like its a lesson I'll constantly be learning.

p.s. If you have any photography tips, send them my way :)
