Hope Floats

i had one of those nights last night.

i dropped cesia off at her dorm and then drove back to my house. my favorite song on the album had come on again and even though it was a little too cold, i rolled my windows down. as my hair floated around my face i took a deep breath and let it go. sometimes i just really appreciate the things God created. the people, the weather, the feeling i get when its just me in my truck driving slowly along in the dark.

this year coming up has so many changes for me. i was telling my sisters this weekend that it feels like i am taking baby steps towards the ocean and all i can see is this giant tsunami of a wave in front of me. it keeps getting bigger and bigger and i'm still walking slowly towards it looking around at people saying, yes i see that and i'm pretty sure God's going to give me a floaty or something...

but half of me is all like, "get me out of here Jesus!" and "what the heck am i doing?"

but i know i can trust him. he has proven that. and i am still walking towards that wave. and that doesn't make me a fantastic christian, that makes me a terrified little girl hoping for a raft. but that is all i got right now.

hope for floatation.

and isn't it a handy thing that even the wind and seas obey him?

"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." Mark 4:39

  1. Definitely! I was just playing I Know Who Holds Tomorrow and I thought of you.

  2. I think it's great that you can trust that there is a plan for you and even though that tsunami seems terrifying, you just gotta keep walking! Sounds like you are doing well =]
    xx Sam

  3. God's not going to send you a floaty, he sent Jesus and He is going to stand in front of you and push the wave away with his bare hands as you keep moving forward. I get shivers just thinking about that image. Praying for your strength as you take those steps. Never stop trusting in him! xx

    1. sam!! you are making me cry over here!! thank you so much for that, you really have no idea!
